“TOP OFFICE 365 APPS” is a new video series where I’ll be covering, explaining and reviewing some of the coolest and most beneficial apps available in the Office 365 SharePoint app store.

Today’s App is : Mavention Profile Completeness”. It’s actually one of my favorite apps. You can watch the video from here.

Mavention Profile Completeness helps you to encourage your users to fill in the blanks on their profile. By confronting them with real-time statistics on how far their profile is completed your users will have an incentive to fill in missing information. Mavention Profile Completeness empowers users and helps them to achieve a full and active profile, making it quicker to find talent and colleagues within any given organization. By providing triggers to fill in missing information Mavention Profile Completeness strives to improve engagement and awareness on your intranet. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the app works on both SharePoint on-premise and SharePoint Online.

[SharePoint4MEA : Arabic Video] Administrative & Service Accounts for SharePoint Server 2013

To install SharePoint 2013, you have to have appropriate administrative and service accounts on servers running SharePoint 2013 and SQL Server. After installation, you need to have appropriate administrative and service accounts to modify and maintain the environment. The accounts that you require to complete these groups of tasks are not necessarily the same. Today’s video describes the accounts that you require after installation for a single server environment and a server farm environment.

December 2013 CU for SharePoint 2013 has been released

The product group released the December 2013 Cumulative Update for the SharePoint 2013 product family.

Be aware that all Update for SharePoint 2013 require March 2013 PU for SharePoint 2013 to be installed first.

Please also have a look at the article that discusses how to properly patch a SharePoint 2013 farm which has Search enabled.

ATTENTION:

Previous releases of the SharePoint Server 2013 cumulative update included both the executable and the .CAB file in the same self-extracting executable download. Because of the file size, the SharePoint Server 2013 package has been divided into two separate downloads. One contains the executable file (identified as ubersrv2013kb2850024fullfilex64glb), while the other contains the .CAB file (identified as ubersrv_1). Both are necessary and must be extracted to the same folder to successfully install the update. Both are available by clicking the same Hotfix Download Available link in the KB article for the release.

See the KB article of the SharePoint Server CU for more details.
